Beihai Park
situated in the centre of Beijing with 800 years' of history. The main buildings are Tuan Cheng (Round Town), Yong'an Temple (Eternal Peace Temple), Nine Dragon Screen (one of China's three remaining screens of the kind), Paradise Hall and the White Pagoda.
Great Wall at Badaling
the symbol of ancient Chinese civilisation. It has a history of more than 2000 years. It starts at Jianyuguan Pass in the west and ends at Shanhaiguan Pass in the east, stretching over 6,350 km and is the only man-made object visible from the moon. The Badaling section, 75km north of Beijing, is the most representative.
Imperial Palace (Gugong, Forbidden City)
built from 1406-1420, the former residence of the Ming and Qing Dynasty (1406 - 1420) 24 emperors, which its name denotes the fact that only the royal family, ministers and tribute-bearing ambassador were allowed inside. The palace is located in the center of Beijing, which sprawls over a total area of more than 700,000 square metres. The various buildings consists of more than 9,000 rooms and houses 1.05 million relics

Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)
where the Qing emperiors lived in summer, constructed in 1888 by the Empress Dowager Ci Xi. It occupies a vast park of 290 hectares, three quarters of which is covered by man-made lake. It is the largest and the best preserved imperial garden in China

Temple of Heaven (Tiantan)
Built between 1406 and 1420, this is where the Ming and Qing emperors offered sacrifices to gods and prayed for good harvest. Being the largest existing alter temple in China, it covers 273 hectares and represents the greatest achievements of Ming and Qing architecture.
Yonghegong (the Lamasery)
located at Beixinqiao, Yonghegong is the largest Lama temple in
Beijing.
