| Tianjin is a major north-south train junction with frequent trains to |
| Beijing, extensive links with the north-eastern provinces, and lines southwards to |
| Ji'nan, Nanjing, Shanghai, Fuzhou,
Hefei, Yantai,Qingdao and Shijiazhuang. There |
| are three train stations in Tianjin main, north and west. Ascertain the correct |
| station. For most trains you'll want the main
rain station. |
| Some trains stop at both the main and west stations,(particularly those originatiing |
| in Beijing and heading south). Trains heading for north-eastern China often stop |
| at the north train station. If you have to alight at the west train
sattion, |
| bus No.24 connects the west train station with the main train station, passing |
| through the central shopping district. The main train station has a soft-seat |
| booking office' that foreigners can use even for hard-seat tickets. To find it, go into |
| the main station enterance (by the x-ray
ma-chinese) and up the escalator to the |
| 2nd floor-it's off to the right. There are usually no queues. |
| Express trains take just under 1.5hours for the trip between Tianjin |
| and Beijing. Local Trains take about two hours. |
